Early Voting Concluded in Florida as Primary Election Day Nears
Early voting for the August 28 primary has concluded. The Primary election is Aug. 28.
The top races are the gubernatorial primaries. Former U.S. Rep. Gwen Graham, former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine, Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and businessmen Jeff Greene and Chris King are the Democratic candidates. Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam and U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis are the Republicans. There are also Cabinet primaries.
In several areas of the state there are contested primaries for congressional seats as in Southwest Florida where two Democrats, David Holden and Todd Truax, are vying for the Democratic nomination in District 19.
In a sign of the times, with much talk about a “Blue Wave” sweeping over the state, primary and general election voters will see more Democrats on their ballots than have been present in a generation.
Myriad local races are also on the primary ballots.
